The new Shea-Coco Taliah Waajid product line made quite the impression on me! I am usually pretty reluctant to try new products because as far as my hair goes, I am well past the product junkie stage. I used the Taliah Waajid line to implement the LOC method. The kit included a Leave-In Conditioner, Monoi Oil and Cream so I figured, Why not? On wash day, I decided to give the products a whirl. This is the process I went with…
Step 1# – Shea-Coco Leave-In Conditioner
After placing my hair into 4 sections, I used the creamy Leave-In Conditioner. It was great at giving me some slip for my hair and detangling was a breeze. This Leave-In Conditioner also doubles as a co-wash product as well. My hair had some tangles prior to me cleansing so I did use some of the Conditioner beforehand to aid in detangling and loosening up any kinks.
Step #2 – Shea-Coco Monoi Oil
Next, I applied the Monoi Oil to each section. The oil smells pretty awesome! It happens to be on the lighter side. I found this to be beneficial in my case because I don’t like my hair to have the weighed down feeling. I peeped the ingredients list and this oil blend contains coconut oil and avocado oil which both penetrate the hair shaft . This is a crucial element in order for the sealing process in LOC to be effective.

It also contains castor seed oil. This oil is one of my new favorites products and has become a staple in my hair care routine.
Step #3 – Shea-Coco Natural Hair Style Cream
The Style Cream has to be my absolute favorite product from the line. I knew I would like the end result because as I was applying it, I loved how hydrated and smooth my hair was. I could also see this product being useful for wash n’ go styling because I was able to get defined curls by shingling the product through my hair. This cream is on thicker side which is something that I love when it comes to my creams. The thickness of this cream no doubt contributes to the long lasting hold. It contains shea butter, castor oil and coconut oil – all of which I absolutely love.
My Results
This product line is a winner, in my book! Usually very few products give me a good outcome when I style on wet hair. However, the Shea-Coco products didn’t let me down. My hair had great movement, shine and most importantly, moisture! I have already purchased another Shea-Coco Natural Hair Style Cream because I loved the outcome so much. This product will be great for my simple styles. It lays those edges down well.
You can purchase this product line at Target, Amazon, and Naturalhair.org. Depending on where you purchase, each product from the line ranges to be about $10 – $11.
