Conditioner is soooooo important. I like to use all natural water based conditioner for the most part. Below are some of my staples.
I recently started using TreSemme Naturals, its cool and less than $5 so I can use it liberally to detangle my long thick natural hair. Primarily, I use it for a quick cowash. It doesn’t work very well as a leave in for me.
As I Am Cleansing Conditioner is heaven in a jar. Its 32oz for less than $10. I cowash, plait my hair into 4-8 jumbo twist and seal the moisture with coconut oil for a full (meaning big fluffy hair) twist out. See below.
Update: As I Am Cleansing Conditioner leaves my scalp itchy after two days. I use is more as a conditioner vs a cleanser. It does not have any cleansing ingredients.
I have literally been using Giovanni Leave In Condition since I went natural in 2006. I have tried to replace it but I keep coming back. Its one of the best leave in conditioners for my hair. Its light enough to still use with heavy styling products or moisturizers. I never get a heavy weighed down feeling. It also seems to be residue free.
This is the newest addition to my regimen. In the past I use African’s Best Hair Mayonnaise (which I also use when my hair was both relaxed and colored treated). When this product was launched earlier this year it quickly became an once a week DC (Deep Conditioning) classic.
Love, LOVE, love Eden Body Works Jojoba Deep Conditioner!!! Every now and then I use it for cowashing.
