Start the Season with a Trim
Prepare your hair for the season by getting a trim or a cute cut to remove dead, split ends. A cute cut will give your hair some shape for the summer for those wash and go’s.
Shampoo More Regularly
If you’re someone who shampoos bi-weekly, you may want to start shampooing weekly with a moisturizing sulfate-free shampoo and follow up with a moisturizing conditioner.
Cowash in Between Shampoo
When you live in a hot and humid climate, your hair loses moisture to the atmosphere. It needs to be replaced and cowashing or conditioner washing is a great way to do that.
Invest in a Clarifying Shampoo
Regardless of the time of year, you should shampoo with a clarifying shampoo every couple of months or so. Depending on what type of products you may need to do this more frequently.
A clarifying shampoo is formulated to remove dirt, debris, and pool’s chlorine from the hair.
Grab a Leave-In Conditioner
You know that moisturizing using the L.O.C. Method is the best way to keep your hair hydrated for a week or more. A leave-in conditioner can be a key component of that.
Deep Condition As Needed
There are two types of deep conditioners: moisture or protein-based. They can be used to restore or prevent the loss of the hair’s moisture-protein base.
Rinse and Repeat
All the tips mentioned above should be included in your hair routine and repeated as needed.
