Your natural hair wash day doesn’t have to take all day! Don’t get lost in the natural hair products or ethnic hair aisles. Add one of each of these wash day necessities to your wash day routine will leave you with softer, manageable, and more moisturized natural hair regardless of whether or not your hair is Type 3, Type 4, or any natural hair type.

Best Shampoo/Wash Day Natural Hair ProductsClarifying Shampoos

Shampooing with a clarifying shampoo is commonly overlooked in the natural hair community. But it’s one of the most important things you can do for your hair and scalp.

Occasionally, your hair becomes overly dry or weighed down by product build up.  A regular shampoo just won’t do, you need a little something extra to remove build up that’s drying your hair.

Maybe you’ve notice that your styling products aren’t working the same; this is another reason to invest the money in your shampoos, especially your clarifying shampoos like Ouidad Superfruit Renewal Clarifying Cream Shampoo.

If you don’t splurge on anything else… Splurge on your shampoo. It’s the foundation of your hair regimen.  Your shampoo should be gentle, moisturizing, and nourishing. This sulfate-free shampoo is all of these things and more.  It also works as a clarifying shampoo to remove product buildup, hard water mineral, salt & chlorine.

Moisturizing Shampoos

Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Moisturizing Shampoo * ($8.99)

When EDEN BodyWorks released their Coconut Shea collection, it was an answer to my prayers. The collection included an 100% natural line of styling and maintenance products with, you guessed it, coconut oil and shea butter. Sulfate free mild cleanser that restores moisture to hair. Perfect gentle cleanser for all hair types.

Also recommended: Ouidad Curl Quencher Moisturizing Shampoo ($18.00) and Giovanni Smooth as Silk Shampoo ($8.99)

Best Conditioner/Wash Day Natural Hair ProductsRinse Out Conditioners

Camille Rose Jansyn’s Moisture Max Conditioner  ($16.99)

Sweet coconut milk and virgin coconut oil droplets are blended with organic aloe vera juices, then thickened with rich shea and cocoa butters for our conditioning base. Evening primrose and aromatic rose hip oils are stirred into our mixture, then pureed with a shot of nourishing vitamin E to create this strengthening conditioner ideal for natural, colored or chemically-treated tresses.

Also recommended: Camille Rose Curl Love Moisture Milk ($16.99), Giovanni Smooth as Silk Conditioner ($8.99)

Leave-In Conditioners (Optional)

EDEN BodyWorks All Natural Coconut Shea Leave In Conditioner ($8.99)

When EDEN BodyWorks released their Coconut Shea collection, it was an answer to my prayers. The collection included an 100% natural line of styling and maintenance products with, you guessed it, coconut oil and shea butter. This Leave-in Conditioner is lightweight, smells great, and perfect regardless of how you style your hair.

Also recommended: Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave-In Conditioner ($26.00), Giovanni Direct Leave-In Conditioner ($8.99)

Styling Products (Optional)

EDEN BodyWorks All Natural Coconut Shea Curl Defining Creme ($8.99)

This is one of my favorite styling products for set styles like twist-outs. It’s humidity-resistant formulation defines and separate curls and waves. This product infuses moisture to strengthen hair, provides frizz control, and optimizes style definition.

Also recommended: Kinky-Curly Curling Custard ($16.99) or Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic ($19.99) (You’ll have a bomb wash and go with either of these.).

Last Resort: EcoStyler Gel (not the best ingredients but gets the job done)

Overwhelmed by all the many products. Not sure what products to use. My hair is an inch to an inch and a half, not curly. Very dry no matter what I use, very thin after flat ironing. I don’t want to relax it or cut it down more than it is now.
    Any suggestions
