Are you selling yourself short?
One of my blogger friends gave me a $300 Bloglicious ticket. I took this as a sign that I was “destined” to attend. I need to learn and connect with other bloggers. As well as grow as a blogger.
I have worked with many natural hair care brands and I called upon some of these brands to assist with travel and accommodation cost. This situation made me really reevaluate my rates for sponsorship and advertising on www.naturalhairrules.com. With consistent content and building a solid following of more than 62,000 I should have the resources to attend blogger conferences, right? I’m providing information to my readers and connecting natural hair care companies with my readers but I’m not in a position where I can better my site? This was a sad realization.
I began to research comparable rates for bloggers. And again it hit me I wasn’t charging enough for my brand partnerships. I have been selling myself short. I have been blessed with a vehicle to provide a substantial income but I’ve been afraid to charge what I really feel in my heart I’m WORTH. I felt like I was not only cheating myself but my family. Natural Hair Rules.com is more than a blog or a website it’s a legacy that I’m leaving for my 10 month old son.
Naturally, I reached out to some of those hair care companies that I have worked closely with. Fortunately, I was able to offset the cost of my travel accommodation through advertisements on the site. This is good news for you because I will host a give away next month. Comment below with your email and you will be entered to win a special natural hair product gift set.
When starting out one tends to just want to get their name out there or assist as many people as possible. It’s always a good practice to review your vision (written, of course) and see where you are in realizing the original vision.
You DEFINITELY have been a value-added for my natural hair journey. I refer to this site at least 3-4 times per week and always walk away with a new tidbit of information.
Great work, Sister girl. Luv ya bunches
Thank you Constance!!! That really blessed me!!! 😉
