These two Aphogee products are often confused but they have some very distinct differences that I know that you and your hair will appreciate. Some of these include the prices, one will leave your hair hard, and one requires an additional product to complete the treatment.
Last but not least, one of these is one of my favorite deep conditioners probably of all times.
Let’s get started with what both of these conditioners have in common. The most obvious similarity is both are protein conditioners made by Aphogee.
Now for the differences…

ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment
Product Description: ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment (ATSPT) is a serious treatment for seriously damaged hair. It rebuilds broken damaged hair. ATSPT is a unique treatment formulated with magnesium and modified proteins which fuse into the hair with the application of heat. The result is that breakage is drastically reduced. ATSPT is a salon service product unlike any product available for at-home use. During the process, ApHogee treatment hardens into the hair, dramatic evidence that something special is occurring.
Note: ATSPT as mentioned before is an intense protein condition that can leave the hair hard and requires an additional step, ApHogee Moisturizer, to soften and balance the hair. You may also want to follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioner. Here’s a list of 5 Best Moisturizing Deep Conditioners.
When using this conditioner you do not want to comb or brush the hair as it sets (this can cause damage). Also, heat is recommended but do not cover your hair with a processing cap. It’s $24.99 for the 16 oz bottle.
Update: One very important thing that I forgot to add when I first published this… ATSPT is not the best smelling hair treatment. The best way to describe the smell is probably rotten egg. But don’t let that deter you. It works great to repair damaged hair.

ApHogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor
Product Description: ApHogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor (AKTMR) provides a weekly regimen to treat brittle hair with cuticle damage and moderate breakage. AKTMR is a concentrated blend of keratin amino acids, botanical oils, and vitamins that does wonders to restore strength and softness to hair that requires a deep, penetrating treatment.
Recommended for use on tinted, bleached or relaxed hair. AKTMR helps repair damage caused by chlorine and hard water. Soothes irritated scalp and may be applied following each shampooing until the healthy condition of the hair is restored.

Note: AKTMR is a quick protein deep conditioning treatment. It will not harden your like ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment. It does not require an additional step; it’s fine to use by itself following each shampoo. It’s ok to use occasionally, weekly or as needed even for the protein sensitive. It’s $11.29 for the 16 oz bottle. This is one of my favorite deep conditioners.
Can u use the 2 min kertain with the aphogee shampoo? I also have the leave in condioner and spray what order should I do it in?
Thank you for the info! I just bought the Aphogee deep moisture shampoo and the 2 minute reconstructor today for my 4c hair that has been experiencing some breakage lately, so I hope that it works well for me.
YES!!! I’m glad to hear it. You also wanna give your hair a little break, meaning low manipulation for a little while.
Can you do the 2 step treatment on the same day as semi permanent dye and should it be done before or after?
