Are you afraid to go natural?
Yea, me too. Or I was five years ago when I first decided to go natural. Well, no I was afraid to have short natural hair. Or was I afraid to have short and natural hair. There’s a difference. Don’t you think? I will discuss topics like this one more in an upcoming Houston and Dallas event.
I transitioned for 5 months and then big chopped. And the funny thing is I did a big chop because I was afraid. Isn’t that crazy. I was afraid to big chop but I big chopped because I was afraid of anyone but my stylist cutting my hair. I wasn’t even planning to wear my hair short and natural. The Story of my Big Chop is a long one.

Now looking back it seems so silly. But every woman I know has experienced a hair scare. It doesn’t matter whether she’s relaxed, natural, white, black or none of the above.
What’s the most common hair scare? It’s usually what is everyone going to say or think. Most women are really concerned about their employers, significant other’s or grandmother/mother’s opinion.
When I’m asked about hair scares my response is simple. Its YOUR hair. Its yours. And your body. You have to look in the mirror and see it. Its up to you to maintain it. With that said your hair regardless of anyone’s opinion should be representative of you and no one else. Hair ain’t nothing but the perfect accessory to already haute package.
When it comes to hair, do what works for your hair and your lifestyle. I believe in keeping it simple. My regimen is pretty basic. It has to be because I have myself (which is pretty high maintenance), my husband, my infant son, a growing business and other commitments. But I have also spent countless hours experimenting with hairstyles and reviewing hair products all for the sake of this blog.
When it comes to hair its not the definitive of your character.

i’m scared to go natural because i’ve been getting relaxers since i was nine. i’m 20 now. i guess it’s the only thing i’m used to. I’m also afraid i won’t feel beautiful with my short kinks..
I agree that their is a difference between, to have short natural hair Or to have short and natural hair. I loved the short hair on me, however I was afraid to have have short natural hair. What was I going to do with it? How would I look with a puff on the top of my head. Well, I did it! and it grew on me. I was like OMG what have I done after I did it and even contemplated if I was going to buy a wig, but I didn’t. It was a liberating experience for me. I finally did something that I couldn’t turn back and change my mind about. I say if I knew my hair was curly all these years, I would have done this many years ago.
I felt the same way. I even told my stylist and my hubby that I could go get a relaxer if I needed to. I even had a bad dream about it. Thank you for sharing.
