2012 was a good year for Natural Hair Rules. We celebrated 5 years as a top natural hair/beauty blog. Here are some of the top moments.
The first and most important…

I became a super hero mom. Or I became a mom at the end of 2011 and continued to get broken in as a parent throughout 2012. I love being a natural mom. I breast fed for 13 months. We clothe diaper and made baby food. Its really not as bad as you think. I shared many of my experiences on my mom blog: Boxer and the Baby. I know I thought it would be a lot worse. But the first year flew by so quickly.
And I was so afraid of baby weight but I was back to my pre-baby size 6 weeks after. Which I don’t know how that happen because my boobs were huge… I worked out throughtout my entire pregnancy. Pregnancy yoga and walking in the 3rd trimester helped my maintain my prego sexiness.

Natural Hair Rules & Essence… This is something I can scratch off my life list. Not only was I feature once but three time. Thank you Essence!!!
I was a featured speaker at Niche Mommy Blogger Conference. I was very nervous about this. It was my first time speaking at a conference. But it wasn’t bad. Now I can go into my next speaking engagement fearless.

This year I wanted to do something different. I partnered with a women’s shelter to talk about healthy hair care and self-esteem. Eden BodyWorks graciously sponsored this initiative and provide hair products to all the attendees.
I was also invited to share how I found purpose in my passion of natural hair care and turned into a profit with high school students and youth ministries.
I hosted Shop The Aisle Blogger Style Texas in Houston and Dallas. I was very excited about this event because it was the 1st in Texas and I got to host two. Only one other blogger has hosted two of these events. Yay me!!!
If I had to wrap up my year in a few words… I would have to say motherhood, empowerment and charity. My passions are my family and sowing into the lives of other. I am so blessed I feel I am obligated to share my gifts and talents with others.
